KAPPA PURON® SC
that viruses
and emissions
run out of steam.
The Kappa Puron® SC is a room air filter designed to improve air quality and reduce the risk of infection. The filter system continuously separates viruses, aerosols, fine dust, pollen and germs from the air in a highly effective manner. This ensures healthy indoor air, free from viruses and pollutants.
With the Kappa Puron® SC, companies minimise their risk of infection and ensure consistently safe workplaces, thus promoting team spirit and increasing productivity in the wake of the pandemic.
The Kappa Puron® SC is ideal for rooms that are not or are insufficiently supplied with fresh air via a ventilation system.

FAQs
Many of our colleagues have been working from home for the past few months. Our offices are now bustling again. However, we are seeing an increasing number of sick days. Can the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter help us to get to grips with this?
If there are fewer people in the room, it is more difficult for viruses to be transmitted. However, more (infected) people also release more viruses. To keep the air in your office under control, you can either ventilate the room vigorously 6 times an hour. Or set up a Puron® SC in your rooms with a high number of people (meeting rooms, common areas).
I work in a school. Especially in winter, I can hardly ventilate properly because otherwise the children get too cold. What should I do?
This is a prime example of the use of the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter. With it, you can ensure that the children benefit from excellent air quality even in winter. What's more, at 45 decibels, the device is so quiet that it doesn't interfere with ongoing lessons.
We always have problems in the catering industry with people calling in sick at short notice. Our bar operations can hardly be kept going because one infection follows another. How can I ensure greater safety and predictability?
The Kappa Puron® SC room air filter protects your employees. Thanks to the Puron's excellent virus filtering performance, the probability of infection is significantly reduced. This in turn prevents a chain reaction of sick days.
Where is the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter already in use?
Kappa Kappa Puron® is used, for example, in offices and administrative buildings, in banks, event and training facilities (schools, universities, seminar rooms, etc.), in the healthcare sector (doctors' surgeries and healthcare facilities) and in the catering and hotel industry.
Am I 100% protected against corona by using the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter?
No. However, the Kappa Kappa Puron® room air filter makes a significant contribution to minimising the risk of infection.
Does the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter ensure a draught-free supply of fresh air or does my back pull if I sit next to it for too long?
The Kappa Puron® permanently purifies the room air and brings the purified air into the room without draughts and at 360°. A ventilation system must be provided to supply rooms with fresh air.
Why do I need the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter if I already have a ventilation system?
Ventilation systems (even with 100% fresh air) usually have a heat exchanger installed. However, heat exchangers are not aerosol-tight. This requirement only arose with the advent of corona. In supposedly 100% fresh air operation, there is still a 4-12% recirculated air proportion due to the air leakage. This proportion is often sufficient for infection with the virus.
Will I still benefit from operating a ventilation system with the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter?
Yes, but the outside air flow should be maximised wherever possible so that the room is supplied with as much fresh air as possible. However, this means that in winter, ice-cold air is drawn in and must be heated before it is introduced into the room. However, the majority of systems are not designed for this type of heating capacity, which is why the control system automatically switches on the recirculated air. Modern systems usually carry out this process automatically and regulate the amount of recirculated air required depending on the outside air temperature and the heat output. The viruses are therefore still distributed in the room. The Kappa Puron® is the only way to consistently ensure good air quality in such systems and in areas where ventilation systems are ineffective or inadequate.
How many filter elements are installed in the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter?
A filter element in a multi-layer design. This innovative and new type of filter element is highly effective at separating even foreign substances in the micro range. It is a three-layer filter medium with a highly effective microfibre layer. It is embedded as a centre layer between two equally filter-active protective fleeces. This prevents contact with the filter layer.
As an option, the Kappa Puron® SC can be fitted or retrofitted with an activated carbon filter element.
How maintenance-intensive is the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter? How often do the filter elements need to be cleaned?
We recommend having the appliance serviced once a year and replacing the main filter element at least every two years.
Can I regulate the filter performance of the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter myself?
The Kappa Puron® SC has two stages for setting the filter performance. The first level, ‘Efficiency’, is intended for operation at a frequency of around 20 people per hour. The second level, ‘Performance’, is suitable for a frequency of around 30 people per hour.
I have a 70m2 room. Does a Kappa Puron® SC room air filter clean the entire room?
Yes, we only recommend a second device for rooms larger than 70m2.
How heavy is the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter?
The Kappa Puron® SC room air filter weighs 35 kilograms without the table top. With the table top, the room air filter weighs a light 40 kilograms.
Does the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter also filter odors?
Activated carbon filter elements can be added as an option.
Can the Kappa Puron® SC room air filter also be rented? How can the rental contract be terminated?
Yes, the Kappa Kappa Puron® room air filter can also be rented. The rental contract can be cancelled at any time at the end of the month after the minimum rental period has expired.
According to which standard are HEPA 14 filters tested?
The EPA H14 suitability is based on EN 1822 (corresponds to class ISO 45 H according to ISO 29463).
