Lever 5
KappaQ-Energy longUse
The fifth lever ‘LongUse’ describes the importance of a life-long energy assessment of ventilation systems.
After all, there is hardly an ageing system that has not been modified from its original state. In addition, ongoing operation ensures a permanent decrease in energy efficiency. Our experience shows that the energy efficiency of almost any ventilation system can be improved. Even small measures can often achieve considerable savings.
Our recommendation
- Maintain and check your systems on an ongoing basis.
- Make use of the experience and expertise of external partners who specialise in the maintenance of ventilation systems.
- Evaluate every change with regard to its influence on energy consumption.
Case study
energy-efficient
service and modernisation
The operator of a bag filter system commissioned Kappa to carry out maintenance and inspections because the system performance was too low.
We were able to establish that the filter bags were already worn out. We were also able to convince the customer that our newly developed Kappa Waveline® filter bag could significantly increase the energy efficiency of the bag filter system.
RESULTS
- By using the improved and energy-optimised Kappa Waveline® filter bags, the energy consumption of the filter system was reduced by 172,400 kilowatt hours of electricity per year.
- This corresponds to an annual CO2 saving of 126,195 kilograms and the CO2 capture of 10,095 adult beech trees per year.

ENERGIEEFFICIENCY-CONCEPT
»KAPPAQ-ENERGY«
KappaQ-Energy is the energy-saving concept for minimising the energy costs of ventilation systems.
It illustrates which factors influence the energy requirements of ventilation and air-conditioning systems and which levers make it possible to massively reduce energy consumption on a permanent and sustainable basis.
