Energy Forum Austria supports companies in achieving climate neutrality

Kappa meets Green Deal. Energieforum Österreich supports companies in achieving climate neutrality.

‘Green Deal’ is a word that has been making headlines almost daily since 2019. However, the time horizon defined by the EGD - European Green Deal, official name - is much broader: its goals are to be achieved by 2050. The key issue here is the often-cited climate neutrality. According to the EU, it is also necessary to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero in order to achieve this. The future therefore also has zero emissions in the European Union.

The Energy Forum Austria

In addition to social change, this also requires transformations in business and industry. This is why the Energy Forum Austria was created - an advisory platform designed to support decision-makers in identifying potential levers for green entrepreneurship. The key areas here are, of course, reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency. These are both areas in which Kappa has been gathering experience and successes for decades. In addition to Kappa, companies such as Siemens, VERBUND and Raiffeisenlandesbank contribute their expertise to the forum.

The sustainability check

Companies have already made numerous investments in recent years to make processes greener. However, further efforts to achieve the Green Deal still lie ahead of them. The Energy Forum therefore offers the opportunity to carry out an independent audit, the sustainability check, at individual company level. A catalogue of objectives can be derived from this, which should make the possible measures more tangible. No preparation is necessary for this.

New standards for less CO2

Another aspect that companies have to deal with as a result of the Green Deal is new regulations to reduce emissions. A total of 70 standards have already been defined by the European Union and the member states. At Kappa, a dedicated team of experts is therefore dealing with these and all other changes relating to air technology compliance. However, Kappa is not only supporting the Energy Forum with its expert knowledge on the requirements side. Kappa is also making its wealth of experience available with regard to effective measures for increasing the performance of ventilation systems.

‘We see the Green Deal as an opportunity. Our focus is derived from the common goal of decarbonisation: reducing emissions as effectively as possible while increasing energy efficiency many times over. We have the best talent in-house for this,’ says Maximilian Hauer, Head of Marketing.

Subsidised Green Deal

The new funding opportunities and structures created by the Green Deal represent a significant opportunity for companies. They are intended to support small and medium-sized companies in creating the necessary room for manoeuvre. Here, too, a growing but also dynamic environment can be expected in the coming years, in which it is worthwhile for companies to stay on the ball.
