Cooled workplaces in steel construction at a cool company
Until now, cooling has hardly been an issue in steel and sheet metal construction. One of Kappa's customers sees things differently. The working conditions at the medium-sized contract manufacturer of steel and sheet metal components were to be improved.
The company mainly carries out welding, grinding and assembly work. The emissions produced are already captured directly via extraction arms and extraction bonnets, meaning that the workplace limit values are complied with. The waste heat from various production systems does not cause the hall to overheat, but the perceived air situation in the hall was still unsatisfying.
It was therefore clear that an improvement in working conditions could be achieved, especially in summer, by supplying additional cooled fresh air.
Solution: Workplace cooling with fresh air
Kappa CC CoolTM was installed to cool the work areas. The system cools the supplied work and production areas efficiently and economically; unlike conventional solutions, it works with the targeted diffusion of cool fresh air. The innovative air diffusion developed by Kappa uses Kappa DiffusorsTM to optimise the distribution of cold air in the affected areas. The cool fresh air is pushed under the hall air like a wedge - without mixing with it. The fresh air is processed, filtered, cooled and heated in the Kappa MTATM System.
All this speaks in favour of Kappa CC CoolTM
- Optimum comfort. The temperature in the hall is perceived as very pleasant all year round. It is now pleasantly cool in the production area in summer.
- The air quality at the workstations has improved significantly thanks to the fresh air.
- The existing extraction system can continue to be used.
- Cooling of the hall with cool night air (Kappa CC FreeCoolingTM) without additional cooling energy.
