30 years of Kappa - 30 years of pioneering work in green air technology.
We have been internationally committed to reducing emissions and saving energy for 30 years. Our claim: the air in the production hall should be as good as in the office. After all, healthy workplaces are a trump card in the battle for skilled labour, they protect the building fabric and make a significant contribution to climate neutrality.
Our history began on paper in 1993, and since our formal entry in the commercial register, we have made lasting changes to air and energy technology in many areas: From the separation of fine dust, nanoparticles and aerosols to increasing the efficiency of energy technology and the digitalisation of air technology. We are driven by our commitment to ‘zero emissions’ and ‘zero waste of energy’. In other words, the continuous endeavour to capture emissions as completely as possible and to use resources without wasting them. We have been able to continuously expand our business areas over the past three decades through consistent innovation.
Air and energy technology for the European Green Deal of tomorrow
Thanks to the European Green Deal, approaches such as ‘zero emissions’ and ‘zero waste of energy’ have not only reached the centre of politics, but also society as a whole. Industry and business are permanently challenged to act more sustainably overall. Our systems are becoming increasingly important due to energy-efficient air filtration, sustainable heating and cooling, the use of waste heat energy, the use of renewable energies and intelligent support through digitalisation. Our Managing Director Klaus Krüger describes Kappa's orientation, which was established back in 1993, with regard to the framework conditions of today's Green Deal as follows:
"For 30 years, we have been making our daily contribution to environmental protection and healthier workplaces. We see decarbonisation as an opportunity to anchor emission reduction and energy saving in the minds of decision-makers in the long term and to increasingly move from wanting to doing. Kappa has stood for tangible quality and measurable performance since 1993. In this way, we accompany companies on the green development path towards zero CO2."
Getting the most out of new and existing systems
Starting points for better energy management can be found in both existing and new ventilation systems. The former have often been in use for many years and therefore harbour many opportunities for so-called ‘green upgrades’. Our portfolio includes the installation of energy-efficient filter elements and components, the utilisation of process energy and digital retrofitting - i.e. retrofitting existing systems with digital helpers. The latter in particular helps companies to massively reduce their energy consumption without major conversions.
When investing in new ventilation systems, issues such as emissions reduction, energy efficiency and sustainability can be taken into account as early as the planning and realisation phase. We have developed the ‘KappaQ’ concept of measures for this purpose. The key here lies in a holistic approach to energy: starting with the system design, through component selection and recovery of lost energy, to the permanent adjustment of air performance to production requirements. Kappa systems therefore require on average 30% less energy than comparable systems. If you look at our projects in the period up to 2023, this equates to many millions of kilowatt hours of electricity saved. With such installations, we are proving how intelligently utilised air technology can develop a rousing pull towards a green future. And we have been doing so for 30 years.
